Terms of Agreement
The finished painting will be unframed unless the client asks the artist to assist in the purchase of a frame. The cost of the frame is the client's responsibility. This includes the shipping of the finished painting/frame. The artist retains all legal photographic and copyrights of the finished image. Permission to use the image in any way must be granted in writing by the artist.
Fees/Payment
The commissioned price of the painting is $ _________ and a deposit of $ _______ or 25% is requested at the signing of this client agreement. This deposit is deducted from the final payment which will include shipping and insurance costs. If the client should refuse the completed commission, the artist, Iona Ezaki, keeps both the deposit and the painting. Payment is due prior to delivery of the finished painting.
Cancellation Policy
Once the painting is delivered, the client has 30 days to return it for a refund of 50% of the original commissioned cost. The client is responsible for the shipping costs back to the artist, and upon reciept of the painting, the 50% refund will be sent back to the client. (The additional 25% cancellation charge covers the balance of time and effort put into the painting, as it is a custom made item.)
While the terms of this agreement provide legal protection for the artist, it also provides the expectations for both the client and the artist while assuring the client that the commissioned painting and the process to complete it will be done in a professional manner.
